“In November 2024, Leaves from Stella donors and past scholarship recipients were notified that the Spring 2025 scholarship program will be Leaves from Stella’s final iteration and the organization will file for dissolution at the end of the fiscal year (June 30, 2025).

I am so proud of this 5-year project. Its mission was always rooted in empathy as a way to not only honor my mother, Estela, but to make the grief experience better for others in a way I wish had been available to me after my own parents passed.

This decision was made with humble recognition of, and contentment with, the time and effort the Leaves from Stella board of directors and its donors gave to help bereaved young adults thrive. From the bottom of my heart — thank you for being part of Leaves from Stella’s journey.
