VOLUNTEER

Friendship and peer-to-peer support are vital to the success of Leaves from Stella.

Our pen-friend program is a peer-to-peer relationship where we encourage check-ins at least every other week via a private Discord group chat. No in-person contact is required. Time commitment is 1 hour per month (minimum 15 min a week).

Fill out the volunteer application if you want to serve as a pen-friend and support our scholarship recipients through their bereavement journey!

Volunteers must:

• be over 21 years old

• have experienced parent or sibling loss

• be based in the U.S., District of Columbia, or Puerto Rico

• pass a criminal background check

• complete Leave from Stella's one-hour volunteer training

• commit to one year of service
